Lovely

Saturday night after our churches Fall Festival we came back home and had to take pictures of our lovely costumes!

Ethan LOVED his costume!!!
He went around all day fighting Pirates. (he tried to hit us with his fake sword but we said, only pirates!)

Might I add that his favorite word was ARG!! All day long!

Titus equally loved his his dinosaur costume, but he was not feeling the photo session!

and he was done!

One year olds! HA!

I also decided to dress up this year. But having decided last minute to do so (like 3:30 on Halloween, ahem!) I was kind of in a crunch!
I thought about dressing up as a hillbilly and wear a bridal veil (and remember I'm pregnant!) and Sam wear over-alls, a bow tie and have a fake shot gun.
We would be a shotgun wedding!
But I thought that might not look good for church, haha!

So this is what I came up with.

Get it?

Oh, and Sam got a little camera happy!
He kept saying, "work it, work it! The camera loves you!"
Haha!
I love that man!

And then I was done!

For real!

disclaimer: for those of you who don't understand my costume, I shall explain! I was a black eye pea! (black eye + the letter P = equals black eye pea!)

Oh and today I STILL have a pirate and a dinosaur! Some how I cannot pry those costumes off the boys! Oh well!

And you were the best first birthday present I got! (but I will NEVER admit to that in public!)

24 things to do before I turn 25

I saw another lady do this on her blog and I thought I should give it a try!
So today on my birthday I have thought of 24 things I would like to accomplish before I turn 25.
(I know, many of you are gasping at my age...do hate! haha!)

So here it is:

1. run a 5k
2. get another tattoo
3. get a new camera
4. paint a painting
5. lose 50 lbs.
6. decide/get/make Paisley's bedding
7. update my blog appearance
8. read a book - completely!
9. go to Sea World again
10. update my driver's license
11. make a craft - something!
12. take family pictures
13. work on a scrapbook
14. go a week without coffee
15. dress up for no reason
16. try fish again
17. go to the midnight showing of "New Moon"
18. attend a Broadway play in Dallas...or New York
19. eat dessert BEFORE dinner
20. get a massage, facial, waxing (don't know what)
21. learn to be a good photographer (learn to edit, etc.)
22. attend a Bible Study
23. have a New Year's party
24. go out to eat with friends

WOW!!!! I've got 365 days to complete it!
And I can't wait to mark them off one-by-one!
Anyone want to join in the challenge with me?
I'll post a link to your list on my blog!!!

Perspectives

................................................

Warning: This post may be too much for some people to handle! HA!

................................................

Ya'll sometimes I have a stroke of genius.
Like when the haze of insomnia is lifted by the sharp but brief relief brought by caffeine.

Today's stroke of genius, you might wonder.

Perspective.

It all comes down to perspective.
And I'm not talking about the traditional my glass is half full bit like,
I got in a car accident and my car was totalled, but at least I am still alive.

Yes the glass is half full method is great and familiar to many, but this is not where my genius lies.
What about trying this on for size?

Scenario:
You got pulled over by the cops (po-po) because of your brake light being out. And by the time the officer left you had a ticket for your faulty brake light, one for no proof of insurance (which you were covered just forgot to put the new card in your car),and one for expired car inspection! Oops! (TRUE STORY)

Now you could be pretty upset and beaten down (and rightfully so)
But what if you looked at it like this...

Reaction:
Man, for my first ticket ever I was an over-achiever! or Can I get a 3-in-1 discount?

This brings me to what I have chosen to put a new perspective on.

My accomplishments.

Here's a few:

* I now have a mound of clean laundry that is as tall as I am! AND it's lasted a week without being dealt with!

BRAVO!

* I have gone 3 days without showering, yummy! As an added bonus I'm conserving water! (you are welcome earth)

YES!

But enough bragging on myself.
I mean I want my head to still fit through doorways.

So tell me what have you accomplished lately?

(disclaimer: I do value a clean home and body, but I rarely feel like I have it all together!)

Harvest of Friends Blog Party

This week, Lynnette Kraft at Dancing Barefoot on Weathered Ground is hosting the Harvest of Friends Blog Party! If you would like to participate, create a post introducing yourself, link to the party via her blog, and then go explore other fun blogs and make some new blogging buddies!!

What is there to say about myself?
I am a wife to a wonderful husband,
a mother to two sweet but challenging boys and one precious girl (still bakin'),
a Christian,
and a down right HOT MESS!
(now the truth comes out!)

the official me:

My name is Brittany. I am a southern girl who grew up in Arkansas, went to college in Oklahoma(OBU), and now lives in Texas! So if anything is mentioned about any of those states I get real sentimental. My husband and I have been married for four years now. We even were in the same fourth grade class(awe!), but he was mean to me! We have two beautiful, ahem, handsome boys! I love Jesus, my church, Arkansas Razorbacks (FOREVER!), St. Louis Cardinals!, Grey's Anatomy, reality TV, cooking shows, my girl friends, Starbucks, Ikea, Sonics’ sweet peach tea, big hair, big bags, shoes, diamonds, painting, photography, acting in theatre, and sleeping! Though I am considered to be a tomboy, I long to be a southern lady! So for now I’m a sassy, opinionated, outgoing misfit! HA!

I really started my blog as what I like to call my therapy session! I just sit and let it all spill out, and I hope that you (the reader) find it somewhat entertaining, make you laugh so hard you tinkle in your pants (or is that just me who does that?)...or maybe occasionally helpful (HA!).

Question time:

1. What is your favorite thing to snack on while you're blogging?
hands down, COFFEE!

2. What is one thing you wouldn't want to live without?
besides the obvious (my family, bible, etc.) I would have to say these days it would be my

iphone

and

my slippers!

3. Beach, Mountains or Farm? Where would you live if you had a choice?
farm- eh, I don't look good in overalls.
mountains- now vacation wise I could/would love to go there.
beach- SIGN ME UP AND SHIP ME OUT!!!!

you mean some people have a favorite? I hate them all, haha! but my least favorite is the bathrooms!!! (don't make me gag!)

5. Who do people say you remind them of?

maybe cause of all the kids running around! haha!

I wish!

6. Prefer parties and socializing or staying at home with the fam?
girl, I love to party! but I do cherish the time I get to spend with just my family!

7. What's your all time favorite movie?
now see that's hard for me, I LOVE movies in general...I mean I am an addicted movie watcher/quoter...no lie!
So, these are a few recent winners:

any of the Rocky movies!
don't ask! (so long ago!)

8. Do you sleep in your make up or remove it like a good girl every night?

9. Do you have a hidden talent or a deep desire to learn something that you've never had a chance to learn? What is it?
hidden talents:
* Using my mouth, I can tie a cherry stem in a knot...no lie and no hands! (my husband LOVES that one!)
* I can make a killer dolphin noise!

10. What's one strange thing you're really good at?
I have a freakishly good memory (does that count?)

11. What first attracted you to your spouse?
I'd like to say it was his personality, or his love
for Christ, but ya'll I guess I'm that shallow! haha! We met in high school and he was on the football team (point number one), he had long shaggy hair (point number two), and his muscles had muscles...YUMMY!!! (home run!)

12. What is something you love to smell?
*pumpkin pies
*hazelnut cream anything
*new babies!
*my husband's deodorant (though he finds it strangely weird that I nuzzle my nose in his pit, don't laugh, you know you've done it too!)

13. Tell something about you that you know irritates people.
* I am a take charge kinda gal, so I guess I'm "too much" for some people
* Oh yeah, and I've been known to get loud, just once or twice though (HA!)

14. When you have extra money (HA!) what's the first thing you think to do with it?
spend it on starbucks! (can't go wrong there!)...or my boys!

15. Are you a silent laugher or a loud laugher? What makes you laugh the hardest?
um, there's no other way but loud!
*my kids make me laugh

(LOVE THIS!)

*let me think of more (haha!)

16. Where is your favorite place to shop?
Jared the Gallery of Jewelry (ha!), Target, Barnes and Noble, Sam's Club (I could LIVE in there!)

17. What's one thing you'd do more often if you had more time?
SLEEP!!, work out (eh, who am I kidding)

18. Are you a big spender or frugal?
you see my husband wishes I was frugal...
and I truly do believe it is a gift, but unfortunately not one I possess!

19. Who is your favorite character of all time (from a movie or book)? (Can't be real)
Ace Ventura (alrighty then)...love me some Jim Carey!

20. Would you want to be famous?
um, yes! I was a theatre major...need I say more! ;)

whew! did I pass the test?!

Not Me Monday!

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

I did not forget our camera at home when we took our trip to Arkansas this week, so we were forced to used our iphones to captured our "lovely" moments. And they were most certainly not deleted by my 3 year old.

Of course not.

During our trip to one of many craft fairs this week, I did not beg Sam to purchase a giant turkey leg for SIX dollars so I could eat it. nope. And I definitely did not blame the growing baby in my belly for craving it.

I would so not have pictures of me ripping it to shreds if my 3 year old had not deleted them.

That would just be silly.

On morning I did not lose track of Titus who when found in the bathroom was playing with the toilet bowl brush. Cause if I had, I might have gagged! Oh, and five minutes later, Titus was most definitely not eating dirt from his grandparents' plant.

nope, not at all.

Friday night the in-laws, family, and I went to see Sam and I's high school Alma mater play football. (Go Bentonville TIGERS!) While we were at the game, I did not watch Ethan pick up some m&ms he had dropped on the dirty bleachers and eat them. And I would never turn my head and pretend I didn't see that because I was just grateful he was quiet.

I would never dare.

Speaking of football, Titus did not run around Saturday during the Arkansas vs. Florida game with a poopy diaper while I was focused on my Hogs! nope.

And I am definitely not angry at all with the fact that we lost the game to the #1 team in the nation because of shady reffing.

Nope, I'm not that petty! ;)

Well, see you next week where I will not admit more of the crazy things that go on in my house!

Do's and Don't and Doing my Victory Dance!

As many of you may know I recently had my sonogram appointment for this pregnancy.
Oh yeah!
So I have compiled a list of do's and don't's from my experience!

Get ready:

* don't invite people to take a poll about what they think the gender of your baby is...especially when you really are hoping for one way. Shows who your true friends are, haha! ;) ahem, Stephanie, Haley, and Dad, ahem.

* do get excited when you realize this is the first time that you get to see your precious baby!

* don't panic when you realize it is about an hour til your appointment and you haven't drank anything really all day.

* don't chug a route 44 drink from Sonic in said hour in the hopes to fill your bladder enough to get optimal view of the baby.

* don't realize after consuming all that liquid that your sonogram appointment is on the second floor of the building...and there is no elevator!

* don't walk in the door and find out that the tech is running behind on appointments and then proceed to do the "pee pee dance" until it is your turn.

* do breathe a sigh of relief when the last couple before you walks out.

* don't try to lay down on the bed and have the pressure of your sweet baby CRUSH your bladder!

* don't tell your ultrasound tech that you drank so much liquid that you have to tinkle SO bad, and then proceed to hear her laugh at you and say that you really don't need to have a full bladder anymore to do a good sono.

* do let your heart get all warm and fuzzy when you see your sweet baby and hear his/her heartbeat, and it's okay to cry a little.

* don't laugh when the tech scans over your bladder and says,"Yeah, you really are full!"

* don't almost pass out as you wait for the tech to show you the baby's gender.

* do cry as she tells you that your baby is a GIRL!!!!!

* don't pretend to flatter the lady and hurry her so you can leave and tinkle!

* don't mistake the lady putting her hand up to wave us out for her trying to give you a hug and then hug her awkwardly.

* don't worry as she stares at you like you are strange while you hug her.

* do head to the bathroom and proceed to tinkle for a minute straight.

* don't laugh as your husband opens the bathroom door, peeks his head in, and say, "You're still going?!"

* do tell everyone you know that your life will soon be full of dresses and bows!

Honestly, I am SO thankful that my sweet baby girl is healthy...and tickled PINK she is a GIRL! For all of those who would like to know, her name is Paisley. (YAY!)
I'm doing my victory dance!
